When a Fire Starts

This workplace safety poster was inspired by a video that showed a fire starting in a garage when the mechanic was working on the fuel tank. He caused the fire to spread because he did not know what to do. Eventually he grabbed the fire extinguiser but had to try to work out how to use it. By then (approximately 20 seconds after the fire started) the fire had grown to a stage it could not be controlled. The building was destroyed. Thankfully no one was injured.

Having fire extinguishers in a workplace is useless if all workers haven't been shown how to properly use them. Having fire alarms is useless if all workers don't know how to initiate them. Having evacuation procedures is useless if all workers don't know what to do. When a fire starts EVERY SECOND COUNTS!

This workplace safety poster addresses the fact that if a fire startsnot everyone in a workplace remembers what to do, or is confident to do it, and assures the workers that it is okay to ask to be shown.
