Everyone should have the right to feel safe at work from violence and aggression in any form from anyone (including co-workers, bosses, patients, clients, cutomers, intruders etc). But not all workers know they have that right, or they don't trust their workplace to act on it if reported. This workplace safety posters was created to help employers remind or educate workers that they have that right and that the workplace supports them in it.
Obviously people view what constitutes aggression and violence differently. Which is why this poster, like most safety posters, should not be a stand alone resource. Workplaces need to provide inductions and training that help workers understand what is appropriate and what is not for that workplace, and have staff competent in dealing with reported incidents.
The icons on this poster are available on the Free Poster Graphics page for workplaces to use to support all their efforts in reducing risks associated with aggression and violence.
Workplaces might consider providing de-escalation training, or even stick a QR Code to the poster for where workers can access more information on the issue/s. The Information band across the bottom of the poster can be updated free of charge to be specific for the contacts at that workplace (email promotesafety@iinet.net.au to discuss). Or workplaces might simply stick their information over it.
This poster is also available with a blue background.
